The History of Renegade Inc.
The history of Renegade Inc. is not simply its history alone. When RINC mergered with once rival Black Dragons, it took on a rich heritage. One will with courage, pride and strength. We had a great run.
Thank you to all our friends and allies, previous members and even some of our enemies.

The Black Dragons Story

The Black Dragons arose from the ground when Linden Rathan's family was killed in the crossfire of rival gangs on Corellia. It was only shear luck that Linden had not been with his family and died himself. When he learned of what had happened, he and a few of his friends from the local space academy swore that they would hunt down the pirate gangs responsible for the act. However, there was a lot of resistance to their manhunt in the beginning. The local authorities did not like the idea of vigilantes directly going after the pirates, so Linden and his group were told to back off. Not able to back down, for the fury he still had in his heart, Linden began to think of a way around the authority's commands. The final decision was to go into business as an escort group. Although the authorities knew perfectly well that it was just a cover, it was good enough that they could not contest it.

The small group of hotshot pilots did not even have an official name at the time. But nonetheless, they made a great name for themselves. Their battles and fights with all the pirates stupid enough to try and raid them were well known among the people of Corellia. One such pirate, who surrendered once he realized who was escorting the shipment he was about to raid, said, "Even though we outnumbered them 3 to 1, they swept down upon us like the flaming dragons in myths...." And so they came to be known as the Black Dragons, which they also began to use themselves. The Black Dragons were considered the top freelance pilots in the system, and sometimes the sector. It was often said, from pirates and civilians alike, that they would rather go up against the CorSec authorities than have a hostile run-in with the Black Dragons. There were even rumors of some citizens claiming the Black Dragons were better than any of the top imperial pilots were!

It is unknown whether or not the Black Dragons ever found the pirates they were looking for, but one can be assured that they will never stop hunting. It is because of this persistence that has led the Black Dragons to amass the fame, glory, and reputation that it has today.

Renegade Inc.'s History

In the days of the Old Republic, special teams were formed within the military. These teams were designed to protect and defend the Outer Rim Territories. Stationed in key places, they were always the first to hear of, and report to, trouble spots. Their jobs were very diverse, quelling uprisings, countering terrorists and pirates, shipment escort. Generally speaking they fought for what was just and right.

One of these groups, code-named Phoenix Squadron, was stationed in Wild Space and used a newer model Rendili StarDrive Dreadnaught as their center of operations. They were responsible for working the area from Sullust to Bespin, including such systems as Mon Calamari, Orto, and Sluis Van. The group had been busy on a very important assignment, when a recall order was sent out by the Chancellor of the Galactic Senate. By the time they received the order, word was already out that the Chancellor had proclaimed himself Emperor. A new regime had been formed.

Phoenix Squadron, unhappy with the outlook for the future, created false reports that their group had been killed, destroyed when their ship was sabotaged, allowing them to recede into seclusion. This is how they stayed for many years, until they learned of the atrocities that the Empire had committed. When the came out of hiding, they learned that the Empire knew of their deception, and had labelled the entire group as traitors and renegades. The only reason the Empire had been unable to locate them, was the groups ever moving ship base.

When Phoenix Squadron came out of hiding, the group decided to rename itself Renegade Inc. and made a business of escort. To replenish their dwindling numbers, Renegade Inc. took in many new members. They setup a temporary base on Mon Calamari, as a recruitment and training center. While on Mon Calamari, they learned of the various movements against the Empire, and decided they would to what they could to help.

Older members, such as Neurorise the Ithorian, Piewalker, Pagman, and JediHutt retired to let others take their places. Merc, who had risen to the leadership position during their time away from civilization, stayed on to supervise the new recruits.

New ships were purchased, old ships were sold off or scrapped. They left Mon Cal for a more secret location. Renegade Inc. had a new beginning. Just as with the legendary Phoenix, they had risen from the ashes of a faked death, hoping to once again fight for what they held as justice, as right.

A New Chapter

Shortly after the move off Mon Calamari, Merc decided to retire, leaving the band in the hands of his head Naval commander, Roy Starkiller. For a while, life was good, but slowly, the group's numbers began to dwindle. More people left than Renegade Inc. could recruit to replace them. Roy was worried this could be the end until...

In the time when business was good, Renegade Inc. had developed a rivalry with a business competitor named the Black Dragons. As employment dropped, the rivalry also began to fade. Roy could see that the Black Dragons were also in a bad spot. Not wanting to see either business fold, a merger was proposed and then accepted by both groups. The future began to look bright again.

The now combined group, continuing under the Renegade Inc. name, soon found their 'secret' base revealed. Despite their efforts, Selaggis was now open for all to see. They remained on Selaggis for some time, until one of the smaller governments of the galaxy, the Trade Federation, began to move in.

The Trade Federation had found a way to sway the people of Selaggis to accept them, rather than Renegade Inc. Knowing that conflict would be devastating, Roy Starkiller, after consulting with his highest ranking members, decided it was best to move.

The Trade Federation was not unfair. They were willing to compensate Renegade Inc. for the move, as well as make several other considerations. After several months, Renegade Inc. found a new home and began construction again.

In the end, the move was probably the best thing to happen. Renegade Inc. found itself in a secluded star system, devoid of life and began to develop it. In a few short months, the development gave them new sources of revenue, facilitating continued development and increased power in the region and in some cases, beyond it.

- Year 6 Day 361 :: After a show of proverbial muscle on the part of Renegade Inc, the citizens of Geedon V Prime have decided that it would be best if they were to simply hand power over to Renegade Inc, as opposed to continuing to hold out and possibly encouraging a more hostile takeover.

With this power, however, came trouble. In an attempt to increase its influence, Renegade Inc. worked out a deal with locals to buy every power station in the Chorios system. This did not sit well with the government of the 12 Colonies. Renegade Inc. once again found itself in a position where it did not want to bring on armed conflict, so it offered to sell the power to the government. 12 Colonies refused. In the end, Renegade Inc. had no other choice and shut off power to the 12 Colonies-owned facilities (for lack of payment) in the system and decided to focus on other things.

- Year 7 Day 242 ::After a show of proverbial muscle on the part of Renegade Inc, the citizens of Douglas VI have decided that it would be best if they were to simply hand power over to Renegade Inc, as opposed to continuing to hold out and possibly encouraging a more hostile takeover.

- Year 7 Day 255 :: After a show of proverbial muscle on the part of Renegade Inc, the citizens of Azbrian have decided that it would be best if they were to simply hand power over to Renegade Inc, as opposed to continuing to hold out and possibly encouraging a more hostile takeover.

After several months, however, our focus soon returned to the Chorios system. We had found a fatal flaw in the security of the 12 Colonies in that system, one we had found long before, and we finally decided to exploit it. the 12 Colonies had never purchased the city construction rights on any planet in the system, only the buildings.

It began with one city, and expanded until we had 5 cities, creating footholds on 3 planets. This depleted our monetary reserves, so it would be several months before further purchases could be made.

Then, the remaining cities were gone. The combined efforts of 3 governments had decided to end Storm's control over the system. They were quick to move, much quicker than Renegade Inc.'s limited resources would have allowed. With limited assistance from Renegade Inc. (through the use of the generators purchased months before), they were able to grab the popular support necessary to gain control.

When the last of the 12 Colonies representatives had been removed from the system, this coalition of governments was satisfied with their work. While their goal had been to free the local populations from the 12 Colonies, they did not have anyone they could put in place to oversee and protect the system.

In a landmark agreement, Renegade Inc. was granted control of Nam Chorios, the primary planet of the system. Its first work was to help restimulate that planet's economy, which suffered under the 12 Colonies administration and was not helped by the lightning quick move to wrest control of the system from them.

- Year 8 Day 179 :: After a show of proverbial muscle on the part of Renegade Inc, the citizens of Nam Chorios have decided that it would be best if they were to simply hand power over to Renegade Inc, as opposed to continuing to hold out and possibly encouraging a more hostile takeover.

Renegade Inc., successful in its pledge to better the lives of the Nam Chorios population, was soon granted control of the entire system. We now commit to bettering the entire system, though it may take some time to complete that task.

- Year 8 Day 238 :: Rather than fall in line with the Falleen Federation's recent requests, Pedducis Chorios issued a release today announcing that they have formally accepted the more conciliatory terms of a planetary body, and have declared the Falleen Federation a criminal organization on their planet.

- Year 8 Day 238 :: After a show of proverbial muscle on the part of Renegade Inc, the citizens of Pedducis Chorios have decided that it would be best if they were to simply hand power over to Renegade Inc, as opposed to continuing to hold out and possibly encouraging a more hostile takeover.

- Year 8 Day 238 :: Today marked the ascendency of Renegade Inc into King's Galquek politics, as they managed to secure their own candidate's legitimacy was respected by the planet's previous ruling powers long tied to Falleen Federation.

- Year 9 Day 88 :: After a show of proverbial muscle on the part of Renegade Inc, the citizens of Meridian have decided that it would be best if they were to simply hand power over to Renegade Inc, as opposed to continuing to hold out and possibly encouraging a more hostile takeover.

- Year 9 Day 88 :: After a show of proverbial muscle on the part of Renegade Inc, the citizens of Meridian Alpha have decided that it would be best if they were to simply hand power over to Renegade Inc, as opposed to continuing to hold out and possibly encouraging a more hostile takeover.

Renegade Inc. maintained a status quo for some time after its move into the Chorios system, but doing so made its employees bored and complacent. While some employees found ways to make the best of it and others moved on to bigger and better things, one named Aay Zavos began to conspire against the company. In the middle of the night, galactic standard time, agents of the Galactic Empire moved in to the entire Meridian sector and began to sway the people against us.

With the help of its allies, Renegade Inc. pushed back most of the threats, but the damage was irreversible. The moves by the Empire pushed several key employees over the edge...

- Year 10 Day 152 :: Renegade Inc was dissolved today due to inactivity.

Thinking of the people of the Chorios system, Roy Starkiller made a deal with his long-time enemy, the Empire, to trade for territory on several planets so the Empire could NOT step in and interfere with their lives. The planets of Nam Chorios, Budpock, Brachnis Chorios and Pedducis Chorios will remain free from the touch of their hand.

Deluged with job offers, Starkiller decided to remain independent for a while.
